Emily Stubblefield joined Lake Ouachita State Park as their park interpreter in April of 2021. She has been with Arkansas State parks since 2019; she started her career as a seasonal interpreter at DeGray Lake Resort State Park. She has combined her passion of being outdoors and helping others through her career choice. Seeing visitors make a lasting connection with the natural resources around them and make lifelong memories in the Natural State is what inspired her to step into the world of interpretation.
Did you know?
Lake Ouachita is in the flight path of the “Mississippi Flyway”. This is a direct route, much like a bird superhighway, that many migratory birds follow each season. This flyway follows the Mississippi River and is used by 325 different species of birds each year!
February 2022 Eagle Tours
Join Lake Ouachita State Park for the last Eagle Tours for the 2021-2022 Season!
Lake Ouachita provides remarkable habitat for wintering bald eagles. Each year, juvenile and mature eagles can be seen among the trees along the shorelines or soaring high above the lake during our lake tours.
Join a park interpreter for the opportunity to see these magnificent raptors up close and in the wild. We will also look for other type of migratory wildlife such as coots, grebes, cormorants, and loons that call Lake Ouachita home for the winter months.
Be prepared, it is chillier and windier on the water than on land.
Make sure to bring plenty of layers to stay warm. Don’t forget to bring your camera and binoculars.
Seating is limited. Be sure to bring your receipt with you when you board.
