Forget the tripod....Corbet Deary gets the shot.
Award winning photographer/writer, Corbet Deary, will share his unique outdoor photography at the HSV Audubon meeting on :
Thursday, December 9 at 10 a.m. in the Coronado Center auditorium.
His program will focus on photos of plants and animals that make their home just minutes away from Hot Springs Village.
And this is also where his story started.
Finding himself within a stone’s throw of a black bear while backpacking on the Ouachita Trail in the mid nineties, Corbet Deary made a decision to purchase a camera. Deary was immediately bitten by the bug and spent countless hours behind the viewfinder, getting acquainted with the camera while gaining an understanding of composition and the importance of perspective. With time came experience and in turn came publishable photos.
As a free lance photographer, Corbet’s photos have been published on the covers and inside a number of national and regional magazines, including Dog Fancy, Arkansas Wildlife, Ozark Mountaineer, Country Discoveries, Arkansas Fish and Game Finder, Get Out and Kayak Angler. His photography has also been featured in calendars, newspapers, brochures, on billboards and post cards.
At present, Deary has a weekly outdoor destination article featuring his photography in the Garland County West and an outdoor column published on a weekly basis in the Sentinel Record in his home town of Hot Springs. Along with outdoor related media, the award winning photographer/writer shoots high school football games for the Sentinel Record and writes on a regular basis for K&N Filters’ website.
Corbet previously served as the staff photographer and outdoor writer for the Tri Lakes, River Valley and Three Rivers Editions of the Arkansas Democrat Gazette and as the Staff photographer/writer for Outdoors in Arkansas magazine.
