Eric Sundell – Milkweeds and Pollinators

I'll have detailed photos of the structures and insects that bring about this unique pollination system–a Believe It or Not slide show - Eric Sundell

The March program comprises a look at Arkansas' milkweeds, all of which are showy wildflowers, and a brief discussion of their role as monarch butterfly larval food.

The emphasis is on pollination, rather than monarchs.

Milkweeds have evolved one of the most specialized, elaborate, and bizarre systems to move their pollen from flower to flower.

Thursday, March 14, 10:00 am Coronado Center

DOOR PRIZE: "Trees of Arkansas" book

After the program, there will be time for a brown bag lunch (bring your own) and then Eric will lead us on a walk at Cedar Creek Trail.
