Great Backyard Bird Count
Vic Prislipsky, Trip Leader
As part of Audubon's nationwide Great Backyard Bird Count, our February field trip will be Monday, February 19th. As in the past, we will survey a number of the Village lakes in search of ducks. Of course, all birds will be counted.
We typically see a wide variety of species making this a good opportunity to brush-up on your duck ID skills.
We will meet at the Balboa beach at 8:00. We usually quit around noon and then have lunch at Isabella. Very little walking is involved; rubber boots won't be needed.
Consider the trip cancelled in case of inclement weather.

The Big Picture
Simply count birds. For as little as 15 minutes of your time, you can help researchers at the Cornell Lab of Ornithology and the National Audubon Society learn more about our bird populations.
It's a free, fun, easy and beneficial activity for bird watchers of all ages.
Take part in the 21st annual Great Backyard Bird Count (GBBC) to be held Friday, February 16, through Monday, February 19.
Our local participation will be Monday, February 19th, starting at 8:00 a.m. at Lake Balboa (see above).
