Tell the AR State Plant Board "NO" on Expanded Dicamba Use
Despite the scientific evidence showing the potential for significant environmental and economic issues, the Governor approved the Arkansas State Plant Board's proposal to extend dicamba use to May 21. A 30-day comment period is now open through Feb. 5, followed by a public hearing on Feb. 20.
Submit your comments and vote AGAINST the proposed dicamba rule!
Audubon Arkansas will submit your comments directly to the
AR State Plant Board.
Audubon Arkansas is against this expansion of dicamba use beyond the current April 15th deadline. As the weather warms, this herbicide's volatility increases, meaning even days later it can kill nearby native plants, which in turn harms birds and pollinators. Harmful effects on non-resistant crops, honeybee production, nearby trees, and native plants and pollinators have already been well documented in Arkansas!
We also need your attendance at the public hearing following the comment period.
When: Wednesday, Feb. 20 at 9:00 AM
Where: Embassy Suites (11301 Financial Centre Parkway, Little Rock)
Why: The Arkansas State Plant Board needs to hear why you are against the expanded use of Dicamba.
